WIC is a supplemental food program that helps mothers and young children eat well and stay healthy.

Who is WIC for?

Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or whose pregnancy recently ended, infants and children under the age of 5 years.

What can you get from WIC?

Individuals who qualify for WIC may receive food vouchers for products such as milk, cereal, juice, eggs, fruits and vegetables, baby foods, beans, whole wheat bread, corn or whole wheat tortillas.

 The Nutrients found in WIC Foods are:  Iron, Calcium, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Folate, Protein, Zinc, Vitamin B6 and Fiber.  WIC foods are a prescription for good health.

WIC will not supply you with all the foods you will need. You may have to purchase additional foods to ensure you and your children are getting adequate nutrition. WIC foods are intended only for those participating in the WIC program.

Early prenatal care and/or continuity of care for infants and children are important in maintaining good health.  Breastfeeding for the first full year of an infant’s life is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
